The fastest way to gain muscle is by doing the right kind of workout. And this does NOT involve lifting more weights. At least it doesn’t mean lifting heavier weights anyway.
As you experience muscle growth, you aren’t getting more muscle cells. You are just increasing the muscle cell size. Your muscle muscle cells are made up for 80% liquid. Sarcoplasm is what defines this particular muscle fluid.
You can increase your muscle mass simply by increasing the amount of sarcoplasm that is within your muscle cells. This is accomplished through doing higher repetitions with a lighter weight.
Lifting heavier weights will increase strength, while lifting lighter weights at higher repetitions will increase size. If your goal is to gain muscle mass it is important to switch to this lighter weight routine right away. The difference is seen when you compare power lifters to bodybuilders. Bodybuilders generally have more muscle mass, while powerlifters have more strength. Different results are seen because the training techniques used by each type of athlete are different as well.
It’s not uncommon to see a guy with large muscles lift less weights than a guy with less muscle. This is because the fastest way to gain muscle is not only about lifting more weights.
You are more fully fatigued as you lift incredibly heavy weight. If you lift smaller weights a greater number of times, muscle fatigue will occur more readily. Your muscles will get bigger with the help of this muscle fatigue.
As I mentioned earlier, doing higher repetitions with lighter weights will help build more muscle fatigue. You do have to keep in mind that you cannot rest very long if you want to establish muscle fatigue in your body. I recommend a 30-45 second rest period between sets, for a total of 4 sets per exercise.
You have to do a lot more than a single exercise for a muscle group. It will do you well to have three exercises per muscle group.
Finally, you should do about eight to twelve reps in a single set for maximum muscle fatigue. This training method is the fastest way to gain muscle.
